Flor Quinto describes her process as a conversation with mystery. Her sculptural paintings include used objects, discarded from her own life or that of a loved one. Her compositions come together in the moment, guided by the play between materials. Wax and resin flow between shattered glass. Warped cassette tape becomes drawing. Capsules explode under the heat gun. Eye shadow crumbles, a new texture is born.Through this practice of salvage and transformation, Flor is exploring her complicated relationship with change. Every finished piece is part personal archaeology, part celebration of the profound stories embedded in our most overlooked possessions. Each piece asks: What do we keep? What do we release? And what happens in that space between holding on and letting go?
