Patrick Haemmerlein-

Immersed in a layered urban paradigm of reality versus fantasy, Patrick Haemmerlein creates a visual soundtrack as a backdrop to his stark silhouettes, choreographing torn pages of poetry and bars of music from the 1800’s and early 1900’s. Splashes of water color’s punctuate the delicate balance between urban sprawl and rural wildlife in Los Angeles. Haemmerlein begins his journey by taking countless photos of his environment exploring both urban and rural perspectives.   He then manipulates the photographs, layering the images on wood until he is able to recreate the feeling of that moment and place. Using Los Angeles as his creative playground, his recycled articles often include sheet music, books he has found and paint.  The result is a timeless tangible
sonnet to the city he loves, and his thirst to rediscover it endlessly.

Lucia Reti-

I am an artist with fire. (literally, look at my head) In my art, I try to bring to life the unnoticed things in the everyday world. In the photos I take, I try to bring out different elements in what I see by experimenting with abstract backgrounds,  realistic focuses, color, and different mediums. I usually use whatever I have around, because when I get the urge to make art, I just grab supplies as quickly as I can and create (with my adhd, I have to take what I can get with my spontaneous bursts of energy). I mostly use acrylic paint, oil pastels, and random drawing materials such as pens or pencils. Making my art is draining and regenerating all at once. It’s somewhere to put my emotions while releasing them, something to make out of it. At 16, I’m trying to make my way in the art world, fighting back on stupid stereotypes, making something physical and beautiful, something real, trying to capture the beauty and the rawness of life.
