John Sullivan
John Sullivan, a first time Artwalk participant, will show thirty works of art, including original paintings, mixed media pieces and prints.
Each piece of art is visually evocative. Each piece provokes thoughts and emotions, and rewards subsequent viewings. The art taps into stories that exist across cultures and processes that our brains use to understand what we see. It becomes dynamic when it is perceived, seemingly on the wall, but actually in the viewer’s mind.
The art blends myths and epic poems with neurology and physics. It shows goddesses and fairies, mythical creatures and imaginary life forms. It’s about subatomic particles, and singularities, and the human body. It’s about the stuff we’re thinking about now and the stuff that’s hardwired into our thinking–the stuff that we’ve been thinking about for thousands of years.
