Napkin Killa
An LA native by the name of Spence was living in Brooklyn and working in advertising. In 2014, he made a joke Instagram account of his afterwork habit; drawing on napkins at dive bars. New York Magazine discovered & booked the cartoon assassin to draw napkin portraits at Fashion Week shows and parties. The exposure quickly turned the joke into a career. Since then, Napkin Killa has drawn at hundreds of corporate and celebrity events worldwide, as well as on live TV. Nap is mainly known for pop culture & topical humor using wordplay & stylized portraiture. Calling on his graffiti background, he branched out in doing murals. Nap has now returned to his hometown of LA and is expanding into studio work (painting & sculpture). He is also developing a mythological art project called Nap Don’t Sleep about the forces inside our subconscious (aka ZZZ Space). Keep a lookout for his characters Nap Dog, Grim Sleeper & more to be unveiled. Maybe he will also be drawing live in the studio? Come find out!
