Susan Savory
Susan Savory was born and raised on the banks of the Susquehanna River in upstate New York. She moved to the seacoast of New Hampshire in 1980, after completing her BFA in Illustration at Parsons School of Design. She has experimented in almost every medium: painting and drawing as well as glass, clay, fiber and metal, and has shown her work in galleries and museums throughout New York, New England and California. She currently creates illustrations, largely for children’s books, in cut paper collage with pencil and gouache. Her most recent personal works include a series of small portraits – assemblages built with vintage photographs, found objects, and paint – and jewelry incorporating her own metalwork and lampworked glass beads as well as antigue silver and other small treasures collected in her travels. Savory has been a Brewery resident since January of 2014.
